Logging your defects, step by step
Start a project, log each defect with a photo, send the list once, and decide on every fix. How it works in the app.
Setting up takes about ten minutes. Keep your handover pack nearby for the dates.
1. Start a project
Tap Start project and pick I've just collected the keys or I'm renovating. Add the address, the date and the kinds of work. Each kind of work becomes a folder for your photos.
For a key collection list, you don't need anyone else to sign up first. For a renovation, add your renovator next: see Bringing your renovator onto defects.sg.
2. Log each defect
One photo, the room, and one line on what's wrong. Photos are saved on your phone as you take them, and nothing is sent until you send it.
3. Send the list
Send the whole list at once. It arrives sorted by trade, so it reads as a checklist. A key collection list can be printed or shared instead.
4. Watch the fixes come back
Your renovator acknowledges each defect and can give a date. When something is fixed, it comes back with a photo.
5. Decide on each fix
- Yes, it's fixed closes it.
- Not fixed sends it back with your note.
- Settle privately closes it by agreement. It costs the firm nothing on their record.
Only you can accept a fix, and each one is judged on its own.
6. Sign off
When you're done, sign off. The record keeps the date and anything still open. You can print or share the list at any time, and it stays in your account.
More detail is in the step-by-step guide.
